We won’t be able to accommodate your visit to all these sites, but promise you to take you to the best site among bests: Pashupatinath Temple (massive structure with golden statue), Swayambhunath Temple (vantage point of Kathmandu valley believed to have self-emanated from the ground), Boudhanath Stupa (gigantic Mandala), and Patan Durbar Square (ancient Royal Palace of Malla Kingdom built in Newari style architecture).

Early in the morning, you will catch a flight to Lukla from the airport in Kathmandu.

As you rise above gradually, the view of crowded settlements of Kathmandu gradually fades while the range of verdant hills begins to show their charm. You will fly parallel to fluffy clouds over the gorgeous Rocky Mountains until you land on the intimidating runaway of Lukla. The overall experience is truly thrilling.

Soon after you get off the plane, the lane becomes crowded with porters, guides and trekkers. Conquering the hustle and bustle of Lukla, you traverse along the trail to Phakding. On the way, beautiful Nupla peak gives a breathtaking outlook. You will pass through several suspension bridges, and woods follow you all the way. This view is nothing as compared to what you are about to see high up there. Finally, you will make an appearance at your destination-Phakding-for the overnight stay.

The excitement of Everest pinches you as soon as you set off to Namche Bazaar. Cascading waterfalls on the way flavor your venture with intoxicating gusto of adventurer. You will traverse a rhododendron and Magnolia woodland (becomes colorful during monsoon) on the way. Crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudhkoshi river, the path ascends towards Monjo.

Behind Monjo awaits another beautiful village Jorsalle, which is also the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. You will go through the woods parallel to Dudhkoshi river and soon diverge your way towards Namche Bazar via a suspension bridge. The trail is quite steep. Somewhere from the middle of the hike in Sagarmatha NP, you will get the first view of Mt. Everest (if the weather is clear).

Subsequently, after getting out of the NP, the beautiful valley of Namche opens up into view. One chorten by the side of the trail marks the entrance to Namche.

Namche Bazaar is saturated by the trekkers and locals. This village has a long trading history and is still a major trading center of the Khumbu region. Often, trekkers trekking in the higher Everest region acclimatize here. Side streets are full of shops. This village is very beautiful to spend your time in.

But we set sail towards Khumjung via a narrow lane. On the way, you will arrive at the vantage point of Syangboche, which opens up the panoramic glimpse of snowy peaks including Mt. Ama Dablam. By the time you come half the way, you will get a chance to see Mt. Everest rising above other minor ranges. You continue towards Khumjung and just before you enter into the Khumjung, you will encounter a Mani wall, which is the longest in Khumbu region.

People in this village are very cordial and extend warm hospitality during your stay. The overwhelming culture of Sherpas will surely delight you. Make sure you visit the Khumjung Gompa (Monastery) to plunge yourself into the spiritual ambiance. For the night, you will settle at Khumjung.

Today it is quite a long way to go, but the trail isn’t so difficult. You will go via Khunde along Khunde Hillary Hospital and then turn right at the junction: the other leads to Namche Bazaar. You will follow the trail parallel to Bhotekoshi river through a scenic glimpse around. The trail is narrowly followed by a series of ups and downs. On the way, you will see Laudo Gompa by the right side of the trail. Finally, you will cross a bridge to make an appearance at beautiful Thamo.

Not many tourists come to Thamo. So, you will be the priority of locals. Chances are, you will be called to join the religious or cultural processions (if time favors). Sherpas are easy to get along with. Experience a perfect rural setting there.

A nice monastery is what beautifies Thamo the most. As you climb up the steep stairs, you will reach the monastery. But the rest of the trail to Thame is not so steep. After a short walk, the beautiful village of Samde welcomes your arrival. Then you will rise gradually up until you arrive at the confluence of rivers below Thame. A narrow canyon of Bhote Koshi is joined by a steel bridge. The rocky wall of the canyon is inscribed with Buddhist’s scripts and painted with the pictures of Buddha.

From there follows a steep hike to the ancient glacial moraine, which opens up the scenic glimpse of snow-clad ranges. After a while, you will make an appearance at beautiful Thame, where the agricultural lands are separated by the stone walls. Explore the culture in Thame, which is also the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.

Thame is the junction of multiple trails that lead us to various destinations like Gokyo Lakes, Sundar Peak (5361 m asl), Namche Bazaar and Khure Kharka. Among these, we set sail on the last one.

Following the river of Khure Kharka, we go along the isolated rugged trail towards the hill to witness the Himalayas of Everest region. The trail passes through barren pastures and eventually accompanies several bridges-although not as beautiful as previous one. While on a walk, you could see the snowscape shining with every beam of the sunlight over a rocky terrain of Himalayas. By the time you rise above the hill, you feel like you are in heaven. Mt. Ama Dablam, Thamserku Glacier wall, and many other peaks are the highlights, but the panorama of all these mighty pinnacles mingled with tiny snow ranges is what gives a breathtaking outlook. 

After spending quality time there, you will return to Thame for an overnight stay.

This day hike is as amazing as the last one but in a different way. You will visit one of the most spectacular monasteries of all times, Kyaro Gompa.

Following the main trail that leads to Gokyo Lakes, you will travel parallel to the roaring Bhotekoshi river through beautiful chortens and sparse settlements. In this region, you will be captivated by the authentic culture of Sherpas. It is worth repeating that the Sherpas are very friendly and gregarious. After hiking for a few hours, you will leave the main trail and take an alternative short route to Kyaro Gompa. This gompa is beautifully built and embellished painstakingly with prayer flags and prayer wheels around.

At the break of the evening, you descend back to Thame for an overnight stay, which is probably the last night in Thame.

By the cockcrow, you hit the pitch to Namche Bazaar via the same route you followed earlier to Thame. Roads are jagged, and mountains are the constant companion until half the way when the woods start getting denser. Occasionally, waterfalls come into sight. The river of Bhotekoshi diverges its path in the southwest direction. Finally, you will make an appearance at Namche Bazaar at the end of the day. Make sure you peek Namche from all directions. It is worth a billion dollars view.

Namche to Lukla retraces your steps back again. The same rhododendron woodlands and occasional mountains peek from the middle of the track. By the end of the day, you will arrive at Lukla for an overnight stay.

Lukla to Kathmandu is still an amazing flight that ascends from the daunting runway of all times. It is daunting because one small blunder while take off can lead you deep down into the mountainous gorge. But such case is very rare.

Finally, it is the time to say goodbye to all those amazing people, mountains and culture until next time you revisit Nepal. We look forward to traveling with you again.
