Nagarkot, a transforming hilly village is situated 32 km east of Kathmandu. It is the viewpoint of many mountains such as Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Rolwaling, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shanker, and even Everest. People visit Nagarkot for different purposes. After enjoying the panoramic view of radiant mountains, we start our hiking downwards for Changunarayan. After hiking down at around 1:30 hours, we reach a place named Telkot. From Telkot, we hike upward for 25 minutes through the forest. Further walking around 20 minutes, we reach Trisul Danda, our lunch place. As we are hiking in the village, we don’t find standard hotels but we get fresh Nepalese traditional food and some MO: MO as well. Further walking at around 45 minutes, we reach Changunarayan Village, an ancient transforming village having Changunarayan Temple, one of the UNESCO Heritage Sites. As we visit Changunarayan, head towards Kathmandu by Private/ Tourist vehicle.

Hikers enjoy a glorious panoramic view of the Himalayas such as Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shanker, and even Everest ranges as well. The trail leads through typical Nepali villages with a diversity of ethnic groups and cultures. Hikers get fresh air as they hike through the pine forest. Those hikers who have only a day in Kathmandu can also afford this hike. At the end of hiking Changunarayan Temple awaits us. It is a shrine for both Hindus as well as Buddhists. It is a historical place and has architectural significance.
