Famous for people following Hinduism and Buddhism, this temple provides cultural and religious aspects. The main stupa is imprinted by the eye of Lord Buddha, which stands for peace, prosperity, and consciousness.

Boudhanath Stupa (World heritage site)
Bouddhanath is the oldest and the largest stupa in the valley, built during the Lichchhavi dynasty in the 5th century, around 2500 years ago. It has been an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and locals. In 1979, Boudha was listed in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Great Stupa of Boudhanath is the focal point of the district. At least 29 Tibetan Gompas (Monasteries & Nunneries) around Boudhanath. Many Buddhist pilgrims and monks from Tibet and various places go around the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.
In the evening, you will meet your trip leader and get a small briefing about the trip. Then, you can buy the needed gear and equipment for the journey from nearby shops.
You shall have a morning flight to Tenzing Hilary Airport-Lukla. The flight to Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. The airfield is at a high evaluation, and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about an exceptional 527m/1,729ft only.
After meeting with your porters and other trip members, you begin our trip into the Khumbu region. Passing the green landscapes and amazing views of a couple of mountain peaks, providing dramatic views of terraced hills, we reach Phakding and stay overnight there.
We are continuing the trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags and ascending through Himalayan pine and cedar forests to the village of Namche Bazaar.
After entering the Sagarmatha National Park, the journey becomes a bit steep. So your pace will be slower; hence you shall have breathtaking views of giant peaks, amazing greeneries, magnificent sceneries, and diverse flora and fauna of the National Park.
The village of Namche Bazaar is an antique trading hub where numerous traders sell their goods, clothes, trekking gear, equipment needed for the trek. Besides, it is a splendid destination to buy traditional crafts and souvenirs.
Most of the trekkers spend their time for acclimatization purposes. On that day, visitors visit local markets and interact with the locals knowing their cultures and traditions. During the daytime, you shall ascend to the Everest View Hotel.
From the hotel, you shall have the first glimpse of Mt. Everest and its neighboring pinnacles as Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Tawache, among many other peaks. On your downhill walk, you might also visit the Sherpa Cultural Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.
After breakfast, begins your journey following a gentle path that leads towards the perspective on Mount Everest, slipping profound into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Phungki Thanka, and starting here, it rises the correct flank of the Dudh Koshi valley to Tengboche Monastery (3860m).
The ascension is lengthy yet is more than adequately compensated by dazzling perspectives on Mount Ama Dablam and Everest.
The journey continues to the village of Dingboche- the “summer valley” today. Initially descending via lustrous forests, you shall cross a suspension bridge over Imja Khola and march towards the village of Pangboche.
Maintaining your own pace, staying hydrated time and again, you follow the foot steep of your trip leader, having the fantastic views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Lhotse via the pastures to Dingboche.
An active rest day is ahead. You need to be adjusted in the higher elevations onwards above 5000m. An optional hike will be to the Nagarjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The core aim of this hike is to climb high and sleep low. As a climb is a bit steep, it can be physically strenuous.
However, one can witness the panoramic views of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Toboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), and Ama Dablam (6856m). On a clear day, you can even see Mount Makalu, the world’s fifth highest mountain, including excellent views of the Pheriche Valley.
Resting a while, you will descend to Dingboche, which takes about 2 hours. After your lunch at your teahouse/lodge and take a well-deserved rest.
The excursion continues a track passing upriver and ends on a glacier, and ultimately meets with the river again. Crossing the suspension bridge over the river, you continue your trek to the village of Thukla.
It’s an easy gradual slope that leads into Dugla. There are epic views throughout the entire hike to the south. Leaving Dugla, you need to climb uphill, spending approximately an hour or more. Once you’re at the top, breathing is difficult, but luckily, it’s pretty flat the rest of the day trekking over rocks and boulders.
At the top of the hill, there are numerous memorials for climbers who’ve lost their lives climbing Everest, including one for Scott Fisher, who perished in the 1996 disaster. Continuing the trek up the valley, you would be coming out to the yak pastures of Lobuche.
Continuing the trail towards Gorak Shep, you may look down on the Khumbu Glacier through meadows. Straight ahead is Kalapatthar - the best vantage point to view the entire south face and the surrounding peaks.
The trails now become quite ups and downs today and become rough as we reach near the Gorekshep. You need to walk over large rocks passing several ascends and descends. Trekking to Gorekshep, you would be preparing for tomorrow's Everest Base Camp Expedition at 5364m meters.
You shall submit the base camp of the tallest peak (8848.86m). There is not much elevation to gain; however, you need to encounter several ups and downs along with altitude; this can be tiring- but the journey is worth it.
Walking gradually with plenty of rest, you will reach Everest Base Camp, spending around 3 hours. Once you stand at EBC, you will get sur4rounded by the high Himalayas. You can observe Khumbu Glacier and Icefall, where the Everest expeditions begin.
Observing them all, capturing the panoramic Himalayan views, you get back to Gorekshep for an overnight stay.
Start early in the morning hike to Kala Patthar, spending 3 to 4 hours to view the yellowish first rays of the sun over Mt Everest and its adjacent peaks, Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall.
During clear weather, the sunrise view over the snowy peak is magical. The entire Himalayan ranges glow with the touch of infant sun rays. You will feel like heaven is nowhere but here.
From Kala Patthar, you will see 360 degrees panorama of the beautiful peaks. You will feel the Himalayas so close, almost at the tip of your nose. Capture your moment in photographs.
Kala Patthar is at a high altitude. Staying there for longer increases the risk of altitude sickness. So, we will take some time to enjoy ourselves and will return to Gorakshep and down to Pheriche.
The journey continues downhill to Phortse today. Though the trek is downward, you shall also face some decent uphill climbs.
Some ups and downs are ahead. Initially, you will descend to Phorste Thanka on this day, complete a steep climb to Mong-la Danda, have a short rise down to Kyangjuma, and follow a gentle trail to Namche.
Leaving behind everything, you trek back to Phakding today. Of course, you will pass some distinct flora and fauna of Sagarmatha National Park.
The journey continues along the Dudh Koshi River to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla, where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu.
Grab a quick breakfast and head to the airport. Make sure to get there early and get a 30-minutes amazing scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you will be shifted to your hotel, and the rest of the day can be spent exploring around.
You can spend the day in Kathmandu, exploring or relaxing at the hotel. In the evening we all shall meet in one of the cultural restaurants of Kathmandu for the farewell dinner.
Carrying a fantastic experience of Everest Base Camp Trek, you will leave this country today. One of the representatives from Holy Mountain Trek will shift you to the Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
