Trip Overview

Like Mt. Everest, Tilicho Lake too is an amazing natural tourist destination that often gets visited by numerous travelers from all over the world including trekkers and explorers who are in search of adventurous trek destination. However, having said that, reaching to Tilicho Lake is not an easy task as it can take up to 12 days to reach there from the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. And by the way, for those who don’t know about Pokhara city, let me just tell you that it is second largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu and is mostly considered to be a sweet heaven for foreign travelers.

Like any other places of Nepal, Tilicho Lake is a must-visit travel destination that can’t be missed out on if you have weeks of free days at your disposal and wish to trek inside the world’s most famous trekking region- the Annapurna region. Tilicho Lake is largely known for it being the world’s highest fresh water lake which sits comfortably at a very high altitude of 4,920 meters above sea level. Heck, its even higher than Annapurna Base Camp which is the freaking base camp of the world’s tenth highest mountain- Mt. Annapurna (8,091m). So, you should by now understand that trekking to Tilicho Lake will be an adventure you won’t forget.

Moreover, reaching to Tilicho Lake will be fun and excitement mostly for the first-time visitors who have never been to such high elevation where the entire atmosphere and surroundings drastically defer from the ones down below near to the sea level. Nevertheless, it will be a blissful journey filled with remarkable and cherish able memories. Trekkers who decide to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek are eventually seen going on a side-way trek to visit Tilicho Lake as it is one of the famous touristic sites inside Annapurna Sanctuary.
